OKOA’s programme staffs works
collaboratively with a number of representatives from government, the
community, and the medical sector in an effort to bring broad-based social
change in the 3 project areas. The collaboration network aims to sustain the
programme beyond OKOA and donor factor. The following are our current
collaborators
AMREF Kenya-Maanisha
Program
Amref Maanisha is a Community Focused Initiatives to Control HIV/AIDS
in the Lake Victoria Region, Kenya is being implemented by the African Medical
and Research Foundation (AMREF). Since 2009, OKOA have been receiving funds to
implement HIV prevention and mitigation of social impact of HIV in Trans-Nzoia
district.
Alongside funding, Amref have been a capacity building partner in
implementation of HIV AIDS activities, organization development, and system
strengthening (ODSS).
We thank AMREF for its invaluable contribution towards the growth and
development OKOA into a prominent organization.
Ministry of public health
and sanitation-Kenya
The ministry of public and sanitation of Kenya (Trans-Nzoia west
district) has been another invaluable partner of OKOA in HIV activities, community
health and water and sanitation. The ministry supply OKOA with HIV prevention commodities
and IEC materials. When implementing water and sanitation projects, divisional
public health officers have been always approached by OKOA program staff for
technical support.
National AIDS control
council –Kenya
The Kenya national aids control council (NACC) is the body established
by the government of Kenya to coordinator all HIV activities in the country. OKOA
have been sourcing important HIV prevention and mitigation information from the
council through its ground structures such the constituency aids control committee
(CACCs) and the district aids technical committees.
OKOA also relies on the guideline of HIV prevention strategy from
council through NASCOP. Some of the materials received from NACC are KNAS III,

Oversea friends
OKOA friends from the UK have made invaluable contribution towards the
achievement of OKOA envisioned goals. Victoria Salisbury cooper from England, Rachael
from England, Laurine toll from Australia and Kidi caru nursery from England just
to name a few have been donating monetary contribution towards the water and sanitation
projects, computer training support program and orphan support programs.
Other collaborators
OKOA also collaborate with a variety of public sectors such local
schools, ministry of education, ministry of gender, social services and sports,
ministry of youth affairs, Kenya national commission of human rights and the
provincial administration.
The non-governmental organization that have partnered up with OKOA
include: IFACO, Kiminini cottage hospital, PAG VCT centre in Kiminini, and CIAC
